Is this a cow - or is it a puppy? That's what people were wondering after seeing a video of a Highland calf acting pretty darn dog-like. The baby was having so much fun playing around, especially when she discovered her own tail! The calf was totally enamored with it - she even started chasing it. It was pretty stinkin' cute!

Shared by Creekside Highland Haven, this video really shows off how adorable a Highland cow's personality is. They're called grass puppies for a reason!

This little one is such a happy girl. You can see it through the screen. The Highland calf was the definition of sweetness in the clip posted online. This is the beauty of raising babies - every moment really is a first!

That's what makes the calf finding her tail so dang irresistible. You know this is the first time she's seen it, and then the chase is on! The baby Highland immediately started going after it. She was just like a little dog! Who knows what other dog-like habits she might have. Maybe she'll start mooing at the UPS delivery man? Or maybe she'll get really into bones!

"I still can believe how tiny she is! She found her tail and loves to chase it!" the video's caption reads.

I hope the calf never loses her puppy-like spirit. She really is too precious. Commenters agreed that the baby cow was everything.

"Might be one of the cutest things I've ever seen!!" praised one person.

"I miss my girl, they're literally just big fluffy pups," chimed in another cow lover.

"She is so darn adorable," praised another commenter.

"I don't want to sound dramatic, but I would run into battle for her," added someone else.

Why Are Cows Called Grass Puppies?

They're big, they're loud, and they have udders. Cows and dogs couldn't be less alike. So why do they call cows "grass puppies?"

The first reason is that cows get the zoomies, just like dogs. They also love to play with toys, just like dogs do. Cows are also emotional creatures that can bond with humans. And finally, they like scratches, just like how dogs love belly rubs. They're more alike than you'd think!
