Kansans might be getting flasks for Valentine’s Day this year, consumer study says
While roses, chocolates, pedicures and flower bouquets remain as popular Valentine’s Day gifts this year, some Kansans might be getting something a little less expected.
Kansas was one of a handful of states where the fifth-top Valentine’s Day gift is a little more unusual, according a study by discount shopping website Offers.com.
In Kansas, the fifth most popular gift is a flask, Offers.com reported.
To find the most popular gifts, the website analyzed gift-related keywords based on the percentage increase in February compared to the rest of the year. Offers.com then weighed the total volume of searches based on Google search data.
Other states also had some quirky Valentine’s Day gift-related keywords in the top five.
Yeti coolers came in as the fifth-most-popular gift in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. In Wyoming, cutting boards, whiskey and gummy bears made the top five.
Other gifts included sunglasses, pear-shaped engagement rings, Oreos and men’s necklaces.
