There’s no day like June 21 for selfie-takers
Get those smartphones out, people, Wednesday is National Selfie Day.
While some non-millennials might argue that every day is selfie day, June 21 is officially (well, as official as a selfie day can be) the day of the year set aside specifically to recognize the act, according to the National Day Calendar website.
The @VisitWichita Twitter account got into the act early Wednesday morning by tweeting a picture of a family taking a selfie downtown near the Keeper of the Plains, which is one of the most popular photo destinations in the city.

A quick search of the hashtag #NationalSelfieDay on Twitter early Wednesday morning revealed many selfie photos already up. One was of a cat apparently taking a selfie.
Isn’t social media grand?
