Love Is Blind's Nick Lachey Reveals Most 'Shocking' Breakup From the Show
Love Is Blind cohost Nick Lachey has presided over 10 seasons of engagements, weddings and heartbreak, but which breakup affected him most?
Nick, 52, shared his "most shocking" Love Is Blind breakup during a Wednesday, May 13, appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, after an audience member put him on the spot.
"That's a really good question," Nick said before pondering his answer. "I think it's really heartbreaking for all of us when couples break up, ‘cause you see their love story, you see it play out."
After taking some time to think, the 98 Degrees singer - who hosts the hit Netflix show with wife Vanessa Lachey - looked back on two specific couples from Love Is Blind season 2, which aired in 2022.
"I think the worst one for me was both couples in season 2 in Chicago called it off," Nick said, referring to Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones and Nick Thompson and Danielle Ruhl, the only two season 2 couples who made it down the aisle but later split up.
Nick continued, "It was like, ‘Oh, man.' To have two [couples] and then see both of those kind of go away and have nothing … I don't want to say nothing to show for Chicago, but you get the point. It was a shame to see both of those relationships end."
"You see their love stories. You hate to see any of them go sideways, because we really do celebrate when people find [love]," he added.
Fellow contestants Nick, 40, and Danielle, 32, also wed in June 2021 and celebrated their first anniversary together before Danielle filed for divorce in August 2022.
"There wasn't a big catastrophic event," Nick exclusively told Us Weekly in October 2022. "Just over time, these things started building up … I don't wanna speak for her, but I know I wasn't feeling like I was getting the partnership I needed to be successful and to kind of move forward with the relationship."
"As we moved forward and we started integrating our lives together, you start to see sort of some cracks that you don't see [right away] based on the way that we met," he added. "And, you know, we were still building our connection, but you go from being completely scheduled to kind of being out in the world to fend for yourself."
