In advance of its 29th annual screening of Oscar-nominated short films, the Wichita Public Library has planned a retrospective screening of nominated short films from the past 20 years. The first screening is on Tuesday.

Live action and animated films will be shown from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Central Library, 223 S. Main. Documentaries will be screened from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. on Feb. 10, also at the Central Library.

Then, on Feb. 14, the library will begin screening the 2015 nominees at venues around Wichita. It will start with an all-day screening of all animated, live action and documentary nominees from 10 am. to 5 p.m. at the Orpheum Theatre, 200 N. Broadway. Another all-day screening will happen the following Saturday, Feb. 21, at the west side Warren Theatre, 9150 W. 21st St. Various library branches around Wichita also will air specific categories throughout the month.

All of the films are 40 minutes or fewer, and all showings are free. The films aren’t rated and might not be appropriate for children.
