Kansas presidential expert Macey Hensley makes final appearance on ‘Ellen’
Macey Hensley, the presidential expert from Council Grove, Kansas, has made her final appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
The episode aired on Presidents’ Day last week.
Macey, now 12, first appeared on the TV show when she was 5 years old. She impressed DeGeneres and audience members with her knowledge of U.S. presidents.
She has appeared on “Ellen” numerous times, meeting former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, and former President Barack Obama.
On last Monday’s show, Macey thanked DeGeneres for the “amazing experiences” the show gave her.
“So far, I’ve been on 110 flights, through 27 different airports, into 22 different states,” she said. “And like it’s crazy, ’cause before, we were just a poor little farm family, and now we’re a poor farm family with amazing experiences.”
DeGeneres said she was happy Macey had those experiences, saying she was “really, one of our favorites.”
DeGeneres then showed a video montage of Macey’s 20-plus appearances, which offered glimpses of Macey with celebrities and politicians such as Khloé Kardashian, Bush, Obama, Luke Bryan and Kamala Harris.
DeGeneres shared the video on Instagram saying: “I’ve spent more President’s Days with Macey Hensley than anyone else. She makes me so happy.”
When Macey was younger, she also appeared as a spokesgirl for Kansas tourism. She filmed several online videos and television commercials to promote the state. She visited the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum, Exploration Place in Wichita and the Kansas State Capitol in Topeka.
