It was a very special “Dancing With the Stars” on Monday, with the celebrities sharing the most memorable moments of their lives: losing parents, greeting children, being bullied, doing time in federal prison.

And on that very special night, the cast lost its most special contestant – Betsey Johnson, the limber septuagenarian who never seemed to have any idea what was happening when she wasn’t on the dance floor.

Even as her elimination drew near, Johnson was still confusedly whispering questions to her long-suffering partner Tony Dovolani, who appeared to be offering her a play-by-play account of the moment they were both living.

Her parting words: “I tell you thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. This has been the best wonderful thing with my daughter Lulu. It’s just been a trip, a big trip, a trip, a trip.”

Other highlights of the night included Alfonso Ribeiro earning a perfect score for his charming reprise of his famous “Carlton” dork dance from “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” Sadie Robertson’s “Duck Dynasty”-inspired samba that included most of her famous family and Tommy Chong publicly dishing on his time behind bars.

The lowlights included an awkward shirtless suspender getup on Antonio Sabato Jr., a poorly choreographed and delivered dance for “Mean Girls” star Jonathan Bennett and partner Allison Holker and the disembodied voice of host Tom Bergeron jarring viewers every few minutes with his off-camera announcement of America’s score.

I also was baffled by the number of texts and tweets and votes the audience was expected to keep track of on Monday. First, viewers were told they needed to score the dances live along with the judges. They also were instructed not to forget to vote on those same dances again for next week’s results show. And finally, viewers need to text or tweet something somewhere, and what they say will somehow determine partner switch-ups for next week.

I need Dovolani to explain that all to me pronto.

Who was your favorite? Which star truly shared the most memorable moment? Do you want Len Goodman back as much as I do? And will you miss Betsey? Share your thoughts.
