Kansas State Fair announces more grandstand acts

Andy Grammer, Hairball and Crowder will perform at the Kansas State Fair this September in the latest announcement of grandstand acts for 2016.

They will join the previously announced Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jake Owen, Restless Heart, Suzy Bogguss and Billy Dean at the fair, which runs Sept. 9 through 18 at the fairgrounds in Hutchinson.

Two more acts will be announced in early April.

Here’s a rundown of the performers so far:

▪ Andy Grammer with Rachel Platten, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9; tickets from $35 to $75. Grammer is known for such hits as “Keep Your Head Up,” “Fine by Me,” “Honey, I’m Good” and “Good to be Alive — Hallelujah.” Platten’s singles: “Fight Song” and “Stand by You.”

▪ Hairball, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 15; tickets $15 and $25. The group performs hits by the likes of Van Halen, Kiss, Motley Crue, Queen, Journey, Prince and Aerosmith.

▪ Crowder, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14; tickets $20 to $50. David Crowder plays folktronica Christian music, with hits including “I Am,” “Come As You Are” and “Lift Your Head Weary Sinner (Chains).”

▪ Lynyrd Skynyrd, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 16. Tickets are $50, $65 and $90.

▪ Jake Owen with opening act Old Dominion, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 17. Tickets are $35, $45 and $75.

▪ Hit Makers Reunion, featuring Restless Heart, Richie McDonald of Lonestar, songstress Suzy Bogguss and country singer Billy Dean, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13. Tickets are $34.

Tickets will go on sale at 8 a.m. May 6 at the Kansas State Fair Ticket Office, by calling 800-362-3247 or at www.kansasstatefair.tix.com. Grandstand tickets include gate admission when purchased through Aug. 20.
