Wichita Habitat for Humanity will sponsor the construction of a new three-bedroom home during Riverfest, and it is searching for volunteers to build it.
First you have to assemble a team of 10 people – each person pledges to raise $250 to go to construction costs for the home.
Volunteer shifts are available from 7 a.m. to noon and 1 to 6 p.m. June 3-11. The home will be built in the vacant lot between the WaterWalk condos and the Wichita Boathouse.
Each person on the team will receive a Riverfest button, food court tickets, a T-shirt, and an invitation to a “Front Porch Party” on the final day of Riverfest to watch the Capitol Federal Closing Night Fireworks.
The event is part of Wichita Habitat for Humanity’s 30th anniversary celebration this year.
