Want to know who’s performing at Riverfest? Here’s a list.
It’s that time of the year again, when the Downtown Wichita streets are filled with fair food, booths, live performances and more. RiverFest Wichita has been a Wichita favorite for the last 50 years.
For the price of admission — $15 for adults, $5 for children 6-12, and free for children under 6 — Riverfest attendees have access to all nine nights of musical concerts, with the option to upgrade to VIP Tickets, which include a cash bar.
Here’s a guide to all the musical acts at Riverfest this year, June 3-11.
Friday, June 3 - Wichita Symphony Orchestra
The Wichita Symphony Orchestra will put on their annual Riverfest Twilight Pops Concert at 8 p.m.
Founded in 1944, the Wichita Symphony is one of the oldest art organizations in Kansas. Their many annual events include their pops concerts, family concerts and free city-wide community performances.
Saturday, June 4 - Willie Nelson and family
Willie Nelson will visit Wichita for a show that begins at 5 p.m. Grammy award winner Nelson, 88, started his career in 1962 and has since then become a household name. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1993.
Charley Crockett, Chapel Hart and Katie Jo will open.
Sunday, June 4 - WAR
The rock band WAR, founded in 1969, will take the stage. WAR is mainly known for their hits “Summer,” “Spill the Wine,” and “The World is Ghetto,” among others. The show starts at 5 p.m.
The Freedom Affair and the Prodigals will open.
Monday, June 6 - GospelFest
The annual GospelFest will be held at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, June 7 - A Salute to Military
The annual “A Salute to Military” concert will be held at 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, June 8 - Gov’t Mule
The southern rock band Gov’t Mule, led by Grammy award-winning vocalist Warren Haynes, will take the stage. The band was founded in 1994.
The show starts at 5 p.m. with Mr. Sipp and Keo & Them opening.
Thursday, June 9 - The Floozies
The Floozies, composed of two brothers, will perform at 5 p.m. The group specializes in funk and EDM.
Tommy Newport will open.
Friday, June 10 - Fiesta del río
RadioLobo will host Groupo Pesado for “an expanded and better than ever” Fiesta del río.
Saturday June 11 - The Family Stone (with special guest Rudy Love Jr.)
The Family Stone will perform on the final day of the Riverfest at 7:30 p.m. The Family Stone, originally called Sly and the Family Stone, was founded in the late 60s and grew in popularity throughout their long career. The Capital Federal Fireworks Finale will immediately follow their performance.
The Monophonics and Love Family Band will open.
