After three months in business, a Wichita burger restaurant is closed. But its owners hope to reopen it.

Southside Burgers, which opened in May at 331 W. 31st St. S., had been closed for about two weeks. Ashley Johnson, who owns the restaurant with her husband, Antwon Roland, said they had to shut the restaurant down because of air conditioning issues.

They’ve been working with their landlord to find a solution, she said, and hope that one is coming. Once it’s figured out, Johnson said, they hope to reopen.

The restaurant specializes in large burgers with 6.9 ounce patties, fresh-cut fries and a few Southern entrees like catfish, chicken wings, chicken tenders and fried shrimp. I’ll keep you updated on the reopening.
