Wichita’s most dangerous brunch will be served on Saturday

Hopping Gnome Brewing Company at 1710 E. Douglas is making brunch interesting again this weekend.

Starting at noon on Saturday, the brewery will be serving its Design District Coffee Stout, and The Gravy Wagon, a biscuits-and-gravy food truck that’s been frequenting the Kansas Grown Farmer’s Market this summer, will be serving out front until 2 p.m.

They’re calling the party Christmas in July.

Customers loved the coffee stout last winter, said co-owner Stacy Ward Stacy Lattin, and they’ve been asking when it would return. Brewery owners had planned to wait until winter to serve it again but decided to go ahead. It’s brewed using coffee from the Spice Merchant, which is down the street at 1308 E. Douglas, and the brewery has made only a small batch that will likely last only through the weekend, Lattin said.

Noble House Hawaiian Plate Lunch will serve dinner at the brewery Saturday evening.

The brewery’s Kegs & Eggs brunch, which had a similar setup, was a big hit in January. For more information, visit the Hopping Gnome Facebook page.
