Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane is about to add a new restaurant, one designed to appeal to non-gamers, too.
It’s called Tin Lizard Bar & Grill, and it will go in the space that originally held Shark Bar and a poker room. The new restaurant, described as a rock-and-roll bar and grill, will open on June 27, said Sonya Jackson, the casino’s public relations manager.
“We just wanted to provide an experience for a non-gaming entertainment,” she said. “Not everybody is into gaming, so we want to provide an experience that allows people that don’t game to be able to come and enjoy the facility.”
Tin Lizard will feature American fare like root beer barbecue baby back ribs, deep fried pickle chips, Angus beef burgers S’mores made in a cast iron pan. It will have 22 big screen, high-definition TVs and also will serve beer and cocktails and have live entertainment every Friday night.

Tin Lizard incorporates the actual bar from Shark Bar, Jackson said. It will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and the full menu will be available starting at 4 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. on weekends.
The Kansas Star has several restaurants inside of it, including the fine-dining spot Woodfire Grille, the Kitchen Buffet, An Pho and The Star Deli.
