Hopping Gnome celebrating its birthday with a week of parties, specials
Hopping Gnome Brewing Company has been open a whole year now.
Torrey Lattin and his wife, Stacy Ward Lattin, opened the brewery at 1710 E. Douglas on May 29, 2015, and they’ve come a long way since then. A year later, their beer is now tapped in several local bars and restaurants as well as in its own tap room.
The couple is celebrating the brewery’s one-year anniversary all week, culminating in a big party at Saturday.
Among the anniversary events this week:
Beer dinner: Hopping Gnome still has tickets for its Wednesday night beer dinner prepared by the chef behind the Noble House food truck. It’ll include three courses, each paired with a Hopping Gnome beer. The dinner is from 6 to 8 p.m., and tickets are $40. Purchase tickets via the Gnome’s Facebook page.
Popcorn pairing: On Thursday, the brewery will put on another of its famous popcorn pairings, during which customers can try a flight of six beers paired with six popcorn flavors from Kernels Popcorn Express. It’ll also tap its new Blood Orange Pale Ale that night. The cost is $15, and the event runs from 6 p.m. until the popcorn runs out.
Final Friday: On Friday, the brewery will participate in Final Friday events with a showing of local photographer Brett Schauf’s work. They’ll also be tapping a new beer – Matt’s Melon Mayhem. Let'm Eat Bräts will serve food outside. The evening starts at 6 p.m.
Saturday bash: The big party starts at noon and runs all day Saturday. It’ll start with a special firkin tapping, then at 6 p.m. Hot-2-Trot Gourmet Hotdogs will be set up outside. The live music starts at 7 p.m. with Tom Page Trio, followed by En Power & Light at 8 p.m.
Sunday party: On Sunday, the actual anniversary, the brewery will be mixing its new Blood Orange Pale Ale with champagne for a magical beer mimosa.
