The big food truck weekend of May is upon us, and the fleet will be pretty much parked at the WaterWalk.
Food Trucks at the Fountain, the mega-rally that usually happens on the final Sunday of the month at the WaterWalk, 515 S. Main, will happen on Sunday. It’s a week earlier this month because the Wichita Riverfest will be setting up on the usual date.
The rally will last from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include more than 30 trucks. Among them will be several truck newcomers, including Wellington’s Bade Truck, Lil'Bit Gourmet Burgers, Nitro Joe's, Sweet Willy's BBQ, Gaga's Grub, Little Lion Ice Cream and Hot-2-Trot Gourmet Hotdogs.
It will start with a 90-minute outdoor yoga session at 10 a.m., and the rally also will include live music from the band Stimulus.

On Friday night, the monthly A Night at the Fountains evening food truck rally will happen on the same spot. It’s scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. It has a long list of trucks, too, including 86 Cold Press, The Kamayan Truck, Hopperoni Express, Funky Monkey Munchies, The Flying Stove and the Drink Local truck.
Music will be provided by DJ Joey Stone.
