Clifton Square bakery closes, is for sale

Cravings Gluten Free Bakery closed at the end of last month.

UPDATE: I heard from Danielle Brittian this morning. She had to close the bakery, she said, for personal reasons and that it was difficult for her to do. She plans to start another business selling many of her baked goods out of her home, she said. She’s also toying with the idea of selling prepared gluten-free meals. Those who want to keep up with her new venture’s progress should follow the Facebook page Danielle Brittian Gluten Free Specialist.

It was a good, gluten-free run, but Cravings Gluten Free Bakery in Clifton Square is no more.

The bakery, which in 2013 opened in Clifton Square, 3700 E. Douglas, suite 80, closed at the end of last month.

It was owned by Danielle Brittian, who started the business after her own doctor advised her to try a gluten-free diet. She started with an Old Town Farmer’s Market booth, then opened the bakery. Many of my gluten-free friends said Brittian’s baked goods were the best they’d tried.

I left messages for Brittian by phone, e-mail and Facebook but did not hear back. On March 4, a post on the bakery’s Facebook page said that Cravings is for sale. Anyone interested is asked to message the business via Facebook.
