The Bubba’s 33 under construction at 412 S. Towne East Mall Drive looks almost ready to go, and that’s because it is.
The restaurant, which sits just north of LongHorn Steakhouse, is scheduled to open on Feb. 29 – leap day. This week, it’s hiring its staff and conducting interviews between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and between noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Training begins in a week.
The restaurant, which is a sister concept to Texas Roadhouse, serves pizza that’s hand-tossed as diners watch. It also specializes in burgers, sandwiches and salads and cold beer served at 33 degrees. The restaurant’s full menu can be seen here.
Diners who visit bubbas33pregame.com can register to win a spot at two VIP soft opening events on Feb. 27 and 28.
I’ll look forward to checking this restaurant out, even though I wish that the fifth restaurant opening on that corner didn’t have a menu so similar to the other four – LongHorn Steakhouse, Logan’s Roadhouse, BJ’s Brewhouse and Old Chicago.
Time will tell how many steaks, burgers, salads and sandwiches one corner can sustain. Time also will tell what day Bubba’s 33 will celebrate its one-year anniversary.
