A popular Newton restaurant has closed after 11 years in business.
Reba’s Restaurant, which was perhaps Newton’s most popular restaurant, has closed, owner Rebecca Ballard said on the restaurant’s Facebook page today. Reba’s was at 301 N. Main in Newton.
The post read: “Hello friends. It is with great sadness to let you know that Reba's has closed its doors after 11 wonderful years of serving you. I will miss all of my loyal customers and leave here with a heavy heart, and many, many beautiful memories. If you have someone interested in continuing to provide our community with fine dining please private message me. I would love to discuss it with you. With Love, Reba and Lander.”
In the three hours since the post went up, I’ve received messages from several distraught Newton residents, and several more have expressed their dismay on the Facebook post. The answering machine at the restaurant also says it is closed. I have a message in to Rebecca Ballard and will let you know if I hear anything back.
