Fork & Fennel, the College Hill restaurant at 3425 E. Douglas that’s owned by The Anchor’s Schane Gross, is adding weekend brunch.
The first one will be served from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Sunday, Dec. 6., and another will be served on Sunday, Dec. 13. Starting on Dec. 19, the brunch will be served on both Saturday and Sundays. The restaurant will switch to its regular menu at 2 p.m. on Saturdays, when brunch ends.
The new brunch menu offers several gourmet dishes that remind me of menus from popular restaurants in the trendy parts of Kansas City. It includes omelets, including one made with salmon and goat cheese and another made with pulled pork, bacon and Cheddar that’s topped with sausage gravy. There’s also a build-your-own breakfast sandwich option, biscuits and gravy and entrees including steak and eggs, eggs Benedict and a carnitas burrito. There will also be a waffle menu, and customers can get them topped with ingredients ranging from chicken and pork belly sausage to pulled pork to Nutella.
The kitchen also has added several burgers to its regular menu, including a mushroom Swiss burger, a blue cheese bacon burger – even a chicken burger, a falafel burger and a rabbit burger.
