Country star Trisha Yearwood will be making the most of her time in Wichita this weekend. Not only will she be making an appearance at Wichita’s Williams-Sonoma on Saturday, but she also will dine at Stroud’s, 3661 N. Hillside, with two local contest winners.
Yearwood, who will appear at Intrust Bank Arena with husband Garth Brooks for six concerts Thursday through Sunday, also will have lunch on Saturday with two people who win a contest put on by local radio station The Bull. People who want to enter the contest must go to the Bull’s Website, click on a link, and submit a story about a Prizefighter in their lives – someone who has overcome adversity. (Last year, Yearwood released an album called “Prizefighter: Hit After Hit,” which contained a singled called “Prizefighter.”)
People can enter the contest until 2 p.m. on Thursday, and two winners will be named on Friday. Each winner will be allowed to bring a guest to the lunch.
Brian Jennings, The Bull’s programming director, said that Wichita is lucky to have the couple in town when Yearwood is heavily promoting her cookbook, “Trisha’s Table: My Feel-Good Favorites for a Balanced Life.” It’s making the star more accessible to her Wichita fans.

Jennings also predicts several Garth Brooks sightings in town starting on Thursday.
“The man’s got to be Thursday through Sunday,” he said. “He can’t possibly stay in his room that long.”
