Each Wednesday in October, we’ve reviewed a pumpkin spice-flavored offering available in Wichita grocery stores. For our last installment, we tasted Garden of Eatin’ Pumpkin Chips.

Tortilla chips don’t immediately scream, “pumpkin spice me,” so when we saw this product on the shelves at Whole Foods, we had to try it.

They taste like any other normal corn tortilla chip, only with a slightly sweet, cinnamon aftertaste. The subtlety of the pumpkin spice flavor almost makes them not worth the trouble except that a Whole Foods employee suggested an easy dip that is an interesting accompaniment: sour cream mixed up with sugar and nutmeg. Served together, they were a sweet-and-salty, unexpected treat of a Halloween snack. The chips are on sale now, and customers can get two six-ounce bags for $5.
