Township Mobile Cafe is a food truck based in Lyons, and it will make the journey to Wichita on Sunday to help serve the masses. The truck’s motto is “urban, local,” and it offers a menu of burgers, pressed sandwiches, fries and sides. Its menu, which is always changing, lists a Cuban sandwich, a mushroom Swiss burger, a chicken burger and Cubano fries, which are topped with slow cooked pork, shredded ham, Swiss cheese, homemade pickles and brown mustard. One, please!
Other food trucks signed up for the rally are organizers The Flying Stove, B.S. Sandwich Press, Big Chill Ice Cream, Brickhouse BBQ, The Brown Box Bakery, Charlie's Pizza Taco, Chino's Parrilla, Falling Star Concessions, Funky Monkey Munchies, Funky Monkeys Shaved Ice, Hopperoni Express, The Kamayan Truck, Kona Ice NW Wichita, Let'm Eat Bräts, Lynn's Curbside Cookout, Noble House Hawaiian Plate Lunch and Sunflower Espresso.
The event starts at 10 a.m. with a 90-minute yoga class put on by Satya Moon Yoga at the corner of Main and Waterman. The trucks will serve from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Jenny Wood and The Watchers will provide live music.
In other food truck news, the West Side Rally organized by the Brown Box Bakery last weekend at 21st and Ridge was a big success, so organizers have planned more. The next events will be on Sept. 11 and Oct. 16, according to the The Brown Box Facebook Page.
