He was coy about his burger restaurant’s timeline, but it’s opening on Monday
Last week, Culver’s franchisee Nick Campe told me that he didn’t want to give a timeline for the opening of his restaurant at 3620 N. Rock Road. When I pressed him, he said that it would definitely be open by summer.
As it turns out, he was being rather literal. He got back in touch on Saturday with a surprise announcement: The new Culver’s will open at 10 a.m. on Monday morning. As in tomorrow. As in April 20.
“I know it’s short notice,” he said. “But due to a mild winter, construction was sped up, and we are able to open a little early.”
Culver’s won’t do any big grand opening promotion, he said. But the staff is “ready to serve fresh, made-to-order hand-crafted meals — with a smile,” he said.
Campe opened Wichita’s first Culver’s at 3210 N. Maize Road in summer 2024. In December, Derby also got one, though it’s owned by a different franchisee.
The fast-food chain is known for its butter burgers and frozen custard. Culver’s restaurants are open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
