There’s no such thing as too many chicken wings. At least that’s my theory.

In about a month, Wichita will get yet another wing option. Steve Davis is opening a franchise of Wingstop, a Dallas-based chain specializing in chicken wings, chicken tenders and fresh-cut fries, at 7325 W. Taft. It will be in a strip center just a few doors down from the new west side Twin Peaks, which opened last week.

The scheduled opening date is Nov. 19, and construction crews are busy working on the interior of the space.

The wings, which are served traditional bone-in or boneless, are made fresh to order, Davis said. Sauce flavors include classic Buffalo, atomic, mango habanero, Cajun, lemon pepper, garlic Parmesan, Hawaiian, hickory smoked, lemon pepper, and teriyaki.

The space will have seating for about 40 as well as two big television sets. It will sell 16 types of bottled beer. Take-out orders will be a big part of the business.

Davis also is in the process of looking for an east-side spot.

A Jimmy John’s also will open in the strip center, likely in December.
