This Wichita burger restaurant originally was set to open on Monday. Here’s the update:
Late last year, the franchisee of Wichita’s first Small Sliders restaurant said that the business would open on St. Patrick’s Day.
But that was Monday, and the opening didn’t happen.
Franchisee Colton Sorlie, though, says the wait for the Small Sliders 13th and Greenwich should not be too much longer. Construction got behind because of the cold, wet winter Wichita experienced, he said. The snow and ice storm in February didn’t help, either.
Now, he’s thinking that the restaurant will be ready to go at the end of March. The targeted (though not 100%) date is March 31.
Small Sliders is part of a chain out of Atlanta that serves burgers, fries and shakes. On Jan. 10, crews dropped the metal building that will hold the tiny restaurant onto its lot at 1370 N. Greenwich, in the Plazzio development.
Sorlie’s family has an agreement to open five Small Sliders restaurants in the Wichita area. The second one will open later this year just south of 37th Street North on the east side of Maize Road between Petland and Capitol Federal.
Stay tuned for the official opening date.
