This east Wichita fine-dining restaurant has closed after two years in business
Update: A post appeared on Doma’s Facebook page around 11:15 a.m. on Friday morning announcing the restaurant’s closure. Those who have gift cards will be refunded, the post read, and they should either message the restaurant on Facebook or email info@domaict.com

After two years, it appears that Doma — Max Cole’s fine dining restaurant at 7703 E. Douglas — has closed.
Although a sign posted on the front gate says that the restaurant is “temporarily closed January 2-January 8 for maintenance and to give our staff a break,” several staff members said they were informed on Thursday via email that the restaurant was closed, that the holiday season had been slow and that expenses were climbing.
The restaurant opened in January 2022 in the massive 13,000-square-foot building on the outskirts of Towne East Square where Carlos O’Kelly’s operated from 2002 until it closed in 2017. It sat vacant until Cole, who owns the property with his son, Lee, decided to open his own restaurant inside and launched a massive remodel.
Doma operated as a fine-dining restaurant focused on a menu of small plates.
The Eagle has left messages with Max and Lee Cole but has not yet heard back.
