Things are coming together for the Wichita Eagle’s Haunted Food Trucks meetup, which is happening from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24.

Late last week, we added an eighth truck to the event: Stubby’s BBQ. That means that in addition to the delicious fare from The Flying Stove, B.S. Sandwich Press, Hopperoni Express, Let’m Eat Brats, Charlie’s PizzaTaco, The Waffle Wagon and Brown Box Bakery, attendees also can sample barbecue from Kendra Hill’s food truck. (Warning: Her specialty is barbecue nachos.)

Not only that, but Oct. 24 has just made it into the 10-day weather outlook, and that day should be sunny and 72 degrees. Perfect food trucking weather.

In addition to the trucks, we’ll have a trunk-or-treat event with free candy while supplies last, meet-and-greets with Eagle columnists, and live entertainment by a glow-in-the-dark hula hoop troupe. People are encouraged, but certainly not required, to wear their costumes.

It will all take place in the Eagle’s back parking lot, which is on Rock Island between Douglas and Waterman.

We will have a special story about the Wichita food truck scene, with a guide to all of our city’s food trucks, in this Sunday’s Arts & Leisure section, so be sure to look for that.

Questions? Call 316-268-6327. Otherwise, we will see you on Oct. 24.
