Dining With Denise Neil

Wichita restaurant scene already has a Bella Vita. Soon, it will also have a Vita Bella.

The old Dairy Queen building at 9310 W. Central has had lots of restaurants occupy it since 2016, when the Westlink Dairy Queen closed. All of them served Mexican fare.

But it appears that a new business is taking over the space, this one serving coffee and boba tea. It specializes in coffee drinks infused with supplements such as collagen, glutathione, ginseng and more. The website describes the supplements as ”healthy ingredients, adding value to your daily or weekly regimen.”

The website for Vita Bella, a chain that is based in the Philippines but is franchising in the United States, shows that Wichita is about to get its own shop in the building on West Central. It even has its own Facebook page: Vita Bella USA-Wichita, Kansas. Vita Bella also has shops in Beaumont, California and Sulphur Springs, Texas.

I’ve reached out to the franchisees, who initially responded saying they’d send more information. But I haven’t yet heard back so have no information on a timeline for an opening date. The sign for the previous tenant, El Ricardo’s Mexican Food, is still on the building, but the windows are covered with paper.

The menu for the shop lists supplement-infused iced drinks, hot drinks and frappes. It also serves milk tea plus iced drinks in interesting flavors like pink rose, winter melon, choco mint and cheesecake coffee.

Vita Bella is not to be confused with Bella Vita, the Italian restaurant that’s operated at 120 N. West St. since 2010.

I’ll let you know when I hear something more from the shop’s owner.
