Country legend Willie Nelson will headline this year’s Wichita Riverfest
The Wichita Riverfest announced its concert headliners for its 2022 installment on Wednesday, and the headliner is a country legend.
Willie Nelson & Family, fronted by the 88-year-old singer, will be among the musical lineup at the festival, which runs June 3-11. They’ll perform on Saturday, June 4.
Also included in this year’s lineup: The Family Stone, Gov’t Mule and Monophonics.
One major difference this year: All headlining musical acts will take place on one stage outside of Kennedy Plaza. In the past, the festival offered a secondary stage of headliners. Last year, it was at the Wave venue. In the past, there’s been a separate stage near the WaterWalk.
Admission to all festival concerts will be free with a Wichita Riverfest button. Early-bird button sales started this week at all Meineke Car Care Center locations in Wichita, Derby and Hutchinson and run through May 5. Until then, adult buttons will cost $10, and child buttons for ages 5-12 will be $5.
After May 5, adult button prices will go up to $15.
