Where to eat out in Wichita on Christmas Day 2021
COVID-19 has changed holiday dining in Wichita.
Last year, many of the restaurants typically open on Christmas Day instead offered meals to go. And though several are still doing that this year, the number is smaller than in 2020.
Though you won’t be able to find much fine dining in Wichita this Christmas Day, there are plenty of bars, Asian restaurants and diners open to accommodate those who don’t want to cook.

The Fusion Restaurant, 1812 W. Douglas, 316-558-5311: Offering take-and-bake meals that include tamales with chile verde or red chile, brunch quiche, or traditional ham meals served with deviled eggs, roasted carrots, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, and eggnog tres leches cake. Call to place an order and schedule a pickup time.
Hog Wild Pit Bar-B-Q: Wichita locations of this barbecue restaurant are serving turkeys, hams and complete Christmas meals that include sides plus rolls. Full meals are $99. Order at your nearest store.
The Kitchen, 725 E. Douglas, 316-928-2899:Selling Christmas dinners to go. Choice of prime rib, ham or roasted turkey dinner with sides served for four ($65 to $140) or eight ($130-$280.). Desserts also available. Pickup available Dec. 23 or 24. Order by Sunday at thekitchenwichita.com.
Pig In Pig Out, 1003 E. 13th St., 316-263-7474: This restaurant is offering a holiday meal for eight that includes two pounds of ham, two pounds of turkey and three quarts of sides for $89.99. A feast for 10-12 costs $149.99 and includes turkey or ham and three pans of sides. Open for pickup from 8 a.m. to noon on Dec. 24.
Spear’s Pie Shop, 4323 W. Maple, 316-943-2783: Serving heat-and-eat smoked pit ham dinners to go that serve six to eight and include sides, salad, rolls and apple pie for $74.95. Pick up Dec. 24. Call to order.
When Pigs Fly, 7011 W. Central, 316-295-2150: Selling smoked turkeys, smoked hams and complete holiday meals to go. Orders must be placed by Saturday and will be available for pickup from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 24. Holiday meals serve 12-15 and are $89.99 for turkey and $94.99 for ham. Includes two side dishes and rolls.
