A list of Wichita restaurants that have just opened or are about to in coming days, weeks
Opening days have arrived or are impending for several Wichita restaurants.
Here’s the latest list:
California Tortilla, 2244 N. Greenwich: Nearly four months ago, this restaurant’s original franchisee closed it because of health issues. Now, new franchisees have taken over. Local accountant Ziad Jabara and his wife, Terri, say they are now ready for customers and that their hours are 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily.
Mr. Miyagi, 4041 N. Maize Road: This quick-service Japanese restaurant, which has been a big hit since opening in July at 3920 E. Harry, has just opened its second location. This one is at 4041 N. Maize, in the space where Nippon Japanese Grill once operated. The owners don’t have online ordering set up just yet for the west-side restaurant, so for now, people will have to go in person to order. Its hours are 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily.
Pho MC, 1750 N. Broadway: The restaurant space that once held Pho Hien (and then was briefly home to Pho H&M) is about to get a new tenant. On Monday, the owners of Pho MC, which opened in 2013 at 1675 S. Rock Road, will open in the space. The menu at this Pho MC will be larger than at the original and will include much more seafood, the owner said. Pho MC specializes in things like banh mi sandwiches, pho and Chinese dishes.
Brint’s Diner, 4834 E. Lincoln: New Brint’s Diner owner Robert Lolar announced an opening date in early November but wasn’t able to make it because of plumbing issues, he said. Now, he’s set a new opening date for Dec. 18. Lolar, who ran a mobile barbecue business in Arkansas City for about a year, will serve breakfast and other diner fare at Brint’s, then in the evening, he’ll switch to a menu of barbecue, soul food and Mexican dishes. His hours will be 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
