A list of Wichita restaurants offering free, discounted meals on Veterans Day 2021
Veterans Day is Thursday, so for veterans and the people who love them, it’s time to start mapping out how to best collect on the many free thank-you meals being offered at Wichita restaurants.
This year’s list is longer than last year’s, when COVID-19 concerns made many of the freebies carryout only or canceled them all together. This year, though, a vet could eat nonstop from breakfast through dinner and still not come close to collecting on all the deals.
Keep in mind that all the specials require a military ID, and most are offered to active duty and retired military members.

Angela’s Cafe & Cantina, 2119 W. 21st St. North: 50% off any dinner from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Angry Elephant, 756 N. Tyler: Free elephant sandwich (smoked pork topped with bacon, cheddar and a fried egg) with fries. Dine-in only.
Applebee’s, many Wichita locations: Free full-size entree from a special menu plus a $5 “bounce back” card that can be redeemed for dine-in, to-go or delivery within three weeks.
The Barn, 307 W. Dean St., Burrton: Free meal.
BJ’s Brewhouse, 7960 E. Kellogg: Free meal from a select menu and a Dr. Pepper. Dine-in only.
Bonefish Grill, 10250 E. 13th St.: 10% off the bill. The deal is offered every day at the restaurant.
Bricktown Brewery, 2142 N. Tyler, 2035 N. Rock Road: Free meal from select menu plus $10 coupons toward a future visit. Dine-in only.
Bubba’s 33, 412 S. Towne East Mall Drive: Free entree from special menu plus soft drink or coffee from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those who can’t dine in person can pick up a rain check voucher good through May 30 at a parking lot tent.
Buffalo Wild Wings, 2413 N. Maize Road, 3236 N. Rock Road: Free boneless wings and fries.
Carlos O’Kelly’s, several Wichita restaurants: Free meal.
Casey’s, several Wichita locations: Free coffee
Chick-fil-A: The restaurants at 21st and Maize and at Maple and Ridge are offering a free Chick-fil-A sandwich from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Chili’s, several Wichita locations: Free meal from special menu.
Common Grounds Coffee House, 2812 E. Douglas: 25% off
Connie’s Mexico Cafe, 2227 N. Broadway: 50% off of meals (excluding alcohol.)
Country Kitchen, 915 East 53rd St. North: Free country scramble for active duty and retired military. Hours are 6 to 10 a.m.
Cracker Barrel, 619 S. Ridge Road, 995 E. 61st St. North: Free slice of double chocolate fudge Coca-Cola cake with purchase in-store or online using the code VETSDAY21. Also offering 25% off military apparel both in-store and online through Nov. 15.
Crazy Horse Supper Club, 2539 W. Pawnee: 50% off.
Dairy Queen, 3248 N. Rock Road and 5335 E. Central: Free medium blizzard.
Denny’s, 4024 E. Harry: Free build-your-own Grand Slam breakfast offered from 5 a.m. to noon for dine-in only.
Dunkin’, several Wichita locations: Free doughnut.
Firebird’s Wood Fired Grill, 10096 E. 13th St.: Free meal for veterans who bring a paying guest. Free meal must be of equal or lesser value.
Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, several Wichita locations: Veterans can get a free combo meal card, no purchase necessary, that can be redeemed through Nov. 30.
Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, 4521 E. 21st St. North, 306 N. Rock Road: Free taco plate
Golden Corral, 616 S. Ridge Road Circle: Free thank-you dinner from 5 p.m. to close. Dine-in only.
Hangar One Steakhouse, 5925 W. Kellogg: Free appetizer with order of entree. Dine-in only.

Hurricane Sports Grill, 8641 W. 13th St.: Free entree from special menu for dine-in only.
IHOP, several Wichita locations: Free red, white and blueberry pancakes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Jimmie’s Diner, 3111 N. Rock Road, 1519 George Washington Blvd.: 50% off meals for veterans and military in uniform, 25% off meals for those with military ID. Dine-in or carryout.
Jimmy’s Egg, 106 S. Hydraulic, 7777 E. 21st St.; 8728 W. Central: One free entree up to $12 in value
LaMar’s Donuts, 10051 W. 21st St., 3130 N. Rock Road: Free doughnut and 12-ounce coffee.
Little Caesars Pizza: Free four-slice deep-dish pizza with pepperoni and a 20-oz. Pepsi beverage from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Red Lobster, 555 S. West St., 333 S. Towne East Mall Drive: Free appetizer or dessert from special menu for dine-in customers.
Scooter’s Coffee, several Wichita locations: Free drink of any size
Texas Roadhouse, 6707 W. Kellogg, 2526 N. Greenwich: The restaurants will be passing out meal vouchers in the parking lot from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. that can be used any time through May 30.
Torchy’s Tacos, 2191 N. Rock Road and 2901 North Maize Road: One free taco and non-alcoholic beverage. Good for dine-in and pick-up orders placed by phone or in person.
Twin Peaks, 8310 E. 21st St., 7325 W. Taft: One free item from select menu. Dine-in only.
