A growing area of Wichita is slated to get the city’s fourth free-standing Chick-fil-A
It looks as though Wichita will be getting another Chick-fil-A restaurant — this one in a bustling area in northeast Wichita.
An application filed last week with the Metropolitan Area Building and Construction Department indicates that Chick-fil-A is planning to build a new restaurant at 2400 N. Greenwich Road. There’s an empty lot at that address, which is near K-96 and Greenwich and sits just to the north of the strip center at 2350 N. Greenwich that’s part of The Village at Greenwich and is home to several businesses including Rocket Fizz candy shop, The Liquor Cabinet liquor store and Chick N Max.
Developer Steve Wheeler’s office on Tuesday said the firm wasn’t ready yet to discuss the deal.
On Wednesday, a Chick-fil-A spokeswoman sent the following statement:
“While we are still early in the process, Chick-fil-A is happy to share that we are actively pursuing a new location in the Wichita area. We look forward to working through the approval process with the City of Wichita and are excited by the prospect of joining this neighborhood.”
Wichita has three free-standing Chick-fil-A restaurants: Central and Rock and 21st and Maize both opened in 2012. Maple and Ridge opened in August 2018.
I’ll keep you posted with more developments.
