Sunday is Father’s Day. And although local restaurants don’t make as big of a to-do as on Mother’s Day, several are still offering Father’s Day dining specials. Among them:
Doo-Dah Diner, 206 E. Kellogg: This popular breakfast spot almost never offers buffets, but it’s testing one out for Father’s Day. It will be offered from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will cost $19.99, $9.99 for ages 10 and under. The regular menu won’t be available, but people can pile their plates with the restaurant’s most popular dishes, including pork belly and grits, crab cake Benny, chicken and waffles, banana bread French toast, biscuits and gravy, chicken-fried steak and Tanya’s Benny. The brunch also will offer a waffle station with bananas Foster.
Jimmie’s Diner, 3111 N. Rock Road, 1519 George Washington Blvd.: Both locations of this restaurant will give fathers a free float on Father’s Day with purchase. Dads get to keep the glass.
Taste and See, 255 N. Washington: The Old Town restaurant is trying something new and offering an all-you-can-eat rodizio-style Father’s Day meal, where meat is shaved table side like in a Brazilian steakhouse. The menu also includes fried cheese, grilled bananas and more. Lunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is $22 a person. Dinner will be served from 5 to 9 p.m. and is $28 a person. Scotch & Sirloin, 5325 E. Kellogg: One of Wichita’s most dad-friendly restaurants is offering its brunch buffet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. It’s $18.95 for adults and $9.95 for ages 11 and under. Make a reservation by calling 316-685-8701.
Hereford House, 1400 Terryadyne, Andover: The Scotch’s sister restaurant is offering the same deal: a brunch buffet served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. It’s $18.95 for adults and $9.95 for ages 11 and under. Make a reservation by calling 316-733-7800.
Piccadilly, 7728 E. Central: This east-side restaurant is loading its typical buffet with barbecue dishes. It’ll be offered from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will cost $20.99 for adults, $18.99 for seniors and $8.99 for ages 5-12. Children 4 or younger eat free. No reservations will be accepted.
Adrian’s, 2121 N. Rock Road: The Mediterranean restaurant is adding several Father’s Day specials to its regular menu, including prime rib, shrimp tortellini primavera, hand-breaded calamari, walnut-crusted tilapia and more. The restaurant also will have drink and dessert specials.
Stroud’s, 3661 N. Hillside: The fried chicken restaurant is taking Father’s Day reservations and is filling up quickly. As a Father’s Day special, the restaurant will be making its “long-lost” recipe for Stroud’s spare ribs with house-made barbecue and serving them Friday through Sunday. Hooter’s, 3151 N. Rock Road: The restaurant will be serving all-you-can-eat chicken and ribs for $19.99 on Saturday and Sunday.
Hangar One Steakhouse, 5925 W. Kellogg: This restaurant is offering several Father’s Day specials, including a bone-in 24-ounce rib eye with two sides for $35.99. The full menu also will be available, and drink specials will be offered. Reservations are recommended by calling 316-941-4900.
Firehouse Subs, 8007 E. Kellogg, 2755 N. Maize Road: The sandwich chain will give fathers a free sub on Sunday with purchase of another sub, chips and a drink. Print off a coupon on the Firehouse Subs Facebook page.
Reverie Coffee Roasters, 2611 E. Douglas: People who buy one drink can get a free one for their dads from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. And, it’s double punch Sunday, which means customers will get two loyalty card punches for every drink they purchase. For more info, call 316-201-1144.
