Only one of Wichita’s two Logan’s Roadhouse restaurants survives both bankruptcy, pandemic

Way back in early March — before the COVID-19 pandemic had taken hold — Old Chicago and Logan’s Roadhouse parent company CraftWorks Holdings announced Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

At the time, a spokesman for the company said Wichita should not despair. Its three Old Chicago and two Logan’s Roadhouse restaurants were performing well and would not be among the restaurants the company would close, he said.

But then the COVID-19 pandemic did take hold, and it looks like things have changed.

This week, an employee at Wichita’s remaining Logan’s Roadhouse at 2424 N. Maize Road, which only recently reopened, confirmed that the east-side restaurant at 353 S. Rock Road was closed for good.

The east-side Logan’s, which sits on the perimeter of Towne East Square, also is no longer listed on the company’s website. Josh Kern, the chief experience officer for the Nashville company, who spoke to to the Eagle in early March, has not returned phone calls.

Both Wichita Logan’s restaurants closed in early March along with all other eateries in the city as state-wide stay-at-home orders were issued. Though many restaurants began reopening in early May when the orders were lifted, both Wichita Logan’s remained closed. The west-side restaurant didn’t reopen until early July.

All of Wichita’s Old Chicago restaurants have reopened.

The west-side Logan’s opened in May 2007. The Rock Road restaurant followed in November of that year.
