This Wichita restaurant across from Bradley Fair has closed but could eventually reopen
UPDATE, 12:15 p.m., May 19: I received a phone call from Kneaders home office in Utah after I posted this story, and that spokesperson said that the closing was because of low sales during the coronavirus pandemic.
She added that Kneaders hopes to return to the Wichita market when it’s had a chance to recover in a couple of years and may even go back into the same building.
“We are working to fix the issues that caused the closure and we hope to re-enter the community in a number of years,” read a statement she e-mailed me. “When it is safe to travel, we hope you will visit us if you are ever near any of our other 55 locations.”

Kneaders Bakery and Cafe is no more in Wichita.
On Tuesday, a spokesperson confirmed that the store, which has been closed at 1821 N. Rock Road since early in the March coronavirus shutdowns, would not be reopening.
“We are dedicated to success in every market and this particular site did not meet the anticipated expectation in the region,” the company said in a Facebook message.
Wichita customers have expressed confusion about the restaurant’s status, as the company has continued to populate the Wichita Facebook page with national specials and deals.
Kneaders also recently closed its three restaurants in the Kansas City area, and Kansas and Missouri are no longer listed on the company’s website as having stores.
Kneaders, which is based in Utah, opened its Wichita store in new construction across from Bradley Fair in September 2017.
It was known for its sandwiches, salads, big pastry country and cozy fireplace.
