Dining With Denise Neil

A new coffee shop just opened in Wichita, and the owners have history with the space

The space on the ground floor of The Lux, 120 E. First St., that Espresso to Go Go vacated back in January is no longer empty.

On Monday morning, Little Lion Cafe owners Ian and Jubilee Miller opened a new coffee shop called Placeholder Coffee.

It’ll sell espresso drinks, kombucha, tea and Little Lion’s famous breakfast burritos. Yogurt parfaits, granola, oatmeal, pastries and ice cream also will be offered.

Little Lion fans might remember that, before they opened their cafe at Revolutsia, the Millers sold burritos and ice cream from their own kiosk inside the Espresso to Go Go space they’re now taking over. They left in June 2018 as they prepared to open their own shop.

For now, seating inside Placeholder will be closed to the public and all drinks and food will be served in disposable containers. They’re also not accepting cash for now.

Hours are 7 a.m. to noon Mondays through Fridays. People can go to the door to order or place an order online at https://placeholder-coffee.square.site.
