Wichita brewer has a new WuShock beer ready for Saturday’s Shockers vs. Sooners game

WuShock is still wheaty, but now, he’s got a twist of citrus.

Wichita Brewing Company, which during the Wichita State vs. Oklahoma game two years ago at Intrust Bank Arena debuted its new WuShock Wheat Beer — complete with a smiling WuShock mascot on the can — will introduce a new version of the beer this Saturday when, once again, the Shockers play OU at the arena.

The new beer, called WuShock Wheat with Lemon & Lime, features the original recipe infused with fresh-squeezed citrus juice. Jeremy Horn, who co-owns the brewery, says the lime flavor is a bit stronger than the lemon but that the citrus cuts the spicy bite of the wheat in the beer.

The beer will be available in cans during the Oklahoma game on Saturday at the arena and is also for sale in liquor stores, Horn said. The brewery plans to sell it until it runs out, which will likely be after March Madness. If it goes over well, WBC may brew it again in the summer, Horn said.

“It’s a great lawnmower beer,” he said.

A handy addition to the beer’s cans: WSU’s conference schedule is printed on the back.
