East-side taco restaurant celebrating its 1-year birthday with a good deal for customers
If you didn’t get around to trying Molino’s Taqueria during its first year in business, this weekend could be your big chance.
The restaurant, which Molino’s Mexican Cuisine owners Mario Quiroz and Mara Garza opened at 2035 N. Rock Road on Dec. 14 of last year, is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a muy bueno special: From today through Sunday, customers will be able to get a street taco combo for $5. The combo comes with one side and a drink and usually costs $8.99. Margaritas also will be on sale for $1.
Quiroz and Garza have run their flagship Molino’s at 1064 N. Waco since April 2013. Their taqueria is a bit different, offering a Chipotle-esque experience where people walk down a line and choose what they want on their tacos, burritos, piratas or bowls. But the taqueria has several extra touches that make it special. It has fried shrimp as a protein option, a fresh tortilla making machine customers can watch as it operates and a self-serve salsa bar.
Molino’s Taqueria is open from 10:30 am. to 8 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
