The list of Wichita restaurants open on Christmas Day 2019
It’s the terrifying climax of “A Christmas Story,” the classic 1983 movie that airs over and over for 24 hours straight on TBS every year.
Neighbor dogs bust into the house, trample through the kitchen and take off with the perfectly cooked turkey that Mr. Parker has been waiting all day — maybe all year — to sample. It’s the most unthinkable disaster.
After he regains his composure, he straightens up and announces to his stunned family: “Alright. Everybody upstairs. Get dressed. We are going out to eat.”
It’s unlikely that the Bumpus hounds will storm your Christmas dinner, but there’s no shame in choosing to go out to eat on Christmas Day. It’s kind of a fun little adventure, and the list of places open on Dec. 25 is always sort of unusual — an unpredictable mix of Asian restaurants, fancy buffets, 24 hour diners and bars welcoming those who need to escape the relatives.

FINE DINING
Harvest Kitchen/Bar, inside the Hyatt Regency, 400 W. Waterman, 316-613-6400: Open for dinner from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Harvest will also be open for breakfast and lunch from 6:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Siena Tuscan Steakhouse, inside the Ambassador Hotel, 104 S. Broadway, 316-440-5300: Open for dinner from 3 to 8 p.m. There’s also a brunch served in the morning. Details are below.
Wichita Marriott, 9100 Corporate Hills Drive, 316-651-0333: The hotel’s Great Room will be open and serving from the menu from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
