The new Tahini Mediterranean Eatery opened Tuesday at 613 W. Douglas in Delano. Utah-based businessman Anthony Pentele, who owns a restaurant consulting business in St. George, Utah, also owns the restaurant, which is in the former Eastern Cuisine and Lotus Leaf space.

For now, it’s serving a limited menu of chicken schwarma, lamb and beef gyros, hummus and its signature dessert, kunafa, which features crunchy dough on the outside and custard cream on the inside. By Tuesday, it should be serving its full menu. The hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
