A national publication takes a restaurant tour of Wichita, publishes 30 dreamy photos
A national publication visited Wichita about a month ago and produced a report that features many dreamy pictures of 20 of the city’s most popular eateries and their owners.
The report, which was published on Friday on the USA Today website, is headlined “Taste of Wichita: Kansas city known for BBQ, pizza and steak blazes new epicurean trail.”
The author reports that these days, Wichita has more to offer than steak and barbecue and notes that Pizza Hut was founded here.
The rest of the report consists of 30 portraits of some of Wichita’s most popular restaurant owners and their businesses, including George Elder at Elderslie Farm; Robert McMullin at Piatto Neapolitan Pizzeria; Rose Santana at Little Saigon; George Youssef at Georges French Bistro; and Austin English at Prost.
McMullin said the author, who also took the pictures for the story, was in the restaurant about a month ago. He ordered the Garlic Basil Cream pizza and raved about it.
I did notice that the writer totally missed Wichita’s amazing Lebanese and Mexican food scenes, and had I been advising him, I’d have recommended stops at N&J Cafe, Meddys or Molino’s.
But the photos are fun to flip though, and it’s always interesting to see how outsiders view our dining scene.
