Wichita has two twisted new restaurants whose titles are just one letter apart.

Twizted Cafe, the latest venture by Twizted Confections owners Bruce and Tina Reesman, opened today, June 1, on the west side of Old Town Square in the space formerly occupied by Hana Next Door.

The menu is posted on the cafe’s Facebook page and lists several burgers and hot dogs, a few sandwiches – including a Cuban, a meatball and a Philly cheese steak. It also has bierocks, several wraps, salads and appetizers including cheese fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings. For dessert there are cookies, pies, carrot cake and more.

The hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. The restaurant, which has seating for about 22, will celebrate its grand opening on June 8 by offering bierocks for $1 apiece, limit two.

The couple’s Twizted Confections opened in 2012 at 6434 E. Central, in Normandie Center.

Also open today is Twisted Java Coffee Bar, a new coffee shop in the once vacant McDonald’s building at 2615 W. 13th St. N.

It’s owned by Steven R. Jones and Karen Kurtz, a former Papa Murphy’s franchisee.

The shop serves Novo Coffee based out of Denver and also serve scones, pies, cinnamon rolls and ice cream products. It’s open from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
