Wichita diners will have a new place to indulge in breakfast, blue plate specials — and a Sunday fried-chicken buffet — starting this weekend.
On Saturday, C.C. Robertson plans to open her new Mo & Izzy's Hash House, which is going into the old WOW Cheesesteaks spot at 803 N. West St. She'll open at 5 a.m. for breakfast and stay open until 11 p.m. daily.
She'll serve the hash referenced in her business title at breakfast as part of a full breakfast menu, plus sandwiches, burgers and Mexican fare. But she's excited about her daily specials, which are a throwback to the days of the blue plate.
On Mondays, she'll serve lasagna with garlic toast and salad. Tuesdays will be $1 taco day. On Wednesdays, she'll serve roasted turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy. Thursdays will be for pot roast with all the trimmings. And on Fridays, she'll serve fried catfish with hush puppies. coleslaw and homemade french fries.

On Sundays, she'll offer a pan-fried chicken buffet from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Robertson also plans to offer tea and coffee free with meals. Her sodas will be $1, with free refills. A 32-ounce drink to-go will be $2.
The restaurant will seat about 40 people.
Robertson will also continue to operate her Tiny Market vegetable stand in front of the restaurant, where she sells Amish-grown tomatoes and other fresh produce.
Robertson once worked in her new restaurant space when it was a Sonic 42 years ago, and she chose the name for her business in honor of her mother and her late father.
