Several restaurants around Wichita have recently expanded or changed their hours for the better.

The latest is Public at the Brickyard, the gastropub at 129 N. Rock Island that is attached to late-night hot spot The Brickyard.

The restaurant has added Sunday evening dinner service. Previously, it closed at the end of its Sunday brunch service.

Public also will begin serving pizzas until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights to cater to the late-night crowds, including those listening to music next door. The Brickyard also has added two flat-screen televisions that will appeal to football fans.

To celebrate the new hours, Public is putting a “Bigger, Better Sundays” party from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. It will include food and drink specials including $5 bloody Marys, half-priced pizzas and some $2 pints and will start with a yoga session on the patio at 9 a.m.

Public’s new hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays with a pizza-only menu after 10 p.m.; and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays.

Kanai Sushi, 12111 W. Maple: The popular west-side sushi restaurant recently started closing on Sundays and opening on Mondays. The new hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.

Delano BBQ Co., 710 W. Douglas: This restaurant used to be lunch only, but now that it has new owners, it also has new hours and is staying open for dinner Thursday through Saturday nights. The new hours are 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.
