The mezzanine level at Market Centre, the office building at First and Market, has been home to several restaurants over the years, including The Lassen in the early 1990s and Italian Bistro in 2011.
Now, it’s home to a new buffet restaurant called Caesars Table, which is catering to business people and downtown workers. There’s no signage outside of the building indicating the restaurant is inside, so diners have to know to look for it.
Sam Kuns, who owns Air Capital Catering and recently moved his business to the space, just opened Caesars Table. Its hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays. The focus of the restaurant is a big buffet that offers at least 12 items daily, including an Italian dish, a fried chicken dish, a barbecue dish, chicken pot pie and soup. There’s also a salad bar.
The full buffet is $10.95, or soup and salad only is $7.95. The restaurant also has a few items that can be ordered from the menu, including a club sandwich, a chicken sandwich, a pulled pork sandwich, chips, onion rings and a daily special. Though the restaurant is open only for weekday lunch, the space is available off hours and weekends for private events and wedding receptions, Kuns said.
