Doo-Dah owner will share his secrets at comfort food cooking class

When a restaurant chef is willing to share his cooking secrets, you have to take him up on it.

Next week, Patrick Shibley – the man who makes the magic in the kitchen at Doo Dah Diner, 206 E. Kellogg – will teach his hungry students how to make comfort food the way he makes it. He’s putting on a cooking class from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, and he’ll demonstrate how to make chili, jalapeno cornbread, butternut squash soup, cheddar ale soup and apple dumplings. When he’s done demonstrating, it’s time to eat.

Tickets are $53.75, which includes tax, and they’re available at www.doodahdiner.com.

Shibley has put on several of these classes in the past, and they tend to sell out. He advises his students to get tickets soon – and to come hungry.
