When you pull up to the McAlister’s Deli at 306 N. Rock Road, you’ll find it closed up tight. It’s been that way since Friday, when it permanently closed.

But there’s no need for alarm. Your massive glass of iced tea and ginormous baked potato are safe and available just five miles away, starting on Thursday. The restaurant is moving to a new building at the Village at Greenwich development that sits on the northeast corner of 21st and Greenwich.

The McAlister’s Deli that opened at 306 N. Rock Road in 2006 will celebrate its relocation to 2222 N. Greenwich Road on Thursday, and it’s rewarding fans who come visit. The restaurant will give the first 50 people in line at the new store a $50 McAlister’s gift card and a free limited edition “Tea Freak” T-shirt. The giveaways won’t start until 10:30 a.m., and the store expects some people to camp out to reserve their spots.

You have to be 18 to qualify for the prizes.

Wichita’s other McAlister’s Deli is at 7130 W. Maple.
