If you don’t eat at Georges French Bistro by Saturday, you won’t be eating there for at least a month.
The restaurant will close at the end of business on Saturday and won’t reopen until July. Though owner George Youssef doesn’t have an exact reopen date, he expects to be closed for right at a month.
The popular restaurant, which is in Wichita’s College Hill neighborhood, is getting more space and a dramatic new look. The remodel plan includes the installation of a large new bar (the current bar seats only five), a new patio area and more.
Once reopened, Georges will begin opening for brunch on Saturday and Sunday mornings, likely starting at 9 a.m. Sundays will become brunch only with no dinner service.

Youssef first opened the bistro in the former Bella Luna Cafe space in November 2015. Since then, it has been drawing crowds hungry for his simple French bistro fare of mussels, French onion soup, escargot, steak frites and croissant bread pudding.
I’ll let you know when Georges is ready to reopen.
