Does a taco need ground beef to be delicious? Must an enchilada be stuffed with chicken to tempt the taste buds?

Not during Lent, say the cooks at Wichita’s Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Next week, the church at 2351 N. Market will continue its annual tradition of offering meatless Mexican meals on Fridays during Lent, which starts on Wednesday.

The meals will be offered from 5 to 7:30 p.m. every Friday from March 3 to April 7 in the Parish Center, and the menu includes cheese and onion enchiladas, tostadas, potato tacos, chile rellenos and more. You can dine in or carry out. Proceeds will support scholarships to send parish children to Catholic schools. For more information, call 316-838-5750.
